Turn your favourite photo into a hand made oil painting
- Which photos can I turn into paintings?
We can paint anything, as long as our artists can clearly see the details of your photo. We do recommend that you pay attention to these guidelines:
1. Make sure to send photos that make the photographed person look good. If you don't like the way you look in the photo then please choose another photo. Don't expect the artists to make the person look much better than he or she looks like in the photo.
2. Try to send photos with the highest resolution you can. We generally suggest anywhere from 200KB to 500KB. For anything less than 100 KB size, the resolution might be too low, and our artists may have difficulties with painting all the details.
3. Please be aware of the background in your photo. For example, you might have a beautiful photo of your grandchild, but in the background there are many useless items that will clutter the painting. In that case, you can tell our artists to use a flat background of any color you choose.
- I can't decide which photo to send. Can you give me some suggestions?

- Do I get to preview my artwork before receiving it?
Yes. Once your painting is ready, we will contact you for you to review it via email. Most of our customers are happy with their first preview. But if you feel that any modifications should be made, we receive your feedback, make the requested modifications and send it back to you for confirmation. Only then it is sent to you.
- How long does it take to receive my painting ?
From time of ordering, the time it takes to receive your oil painting is approximately 15-20 business days. It takes an average of 8 business days from your order until you receive a preview email. Once you confirm that you’re happy with the painting, we ship it immediately. The shipment takes about another 5-7 business days. If you want your photo to be amended, it will take another 3-5 business days. This time doesn't take into consideration the time we wait for the customer to approve the artwork.
- What format should my photo be?
Upload your photo in .jpeg, .gif, .bmp, or .tiff. The better the image is, the better will the artist be able to create your painting. So as far as we’re concerned, the larger the file the better!
- Can you combine images from more than one photograph into a single painting?
Yes, we can. You can send several photographs and have people from them placed together into a single painting. Simply give us detailed instructions when placing your order.
- What style can you paint my photo in?
We have a collection of some of the world’s most talented artists, so we can paint in virtually any style you want.
Our most popular request is painting directly from the photo. Others request the painting in black and white. We have had occasions where people request the painting in “Van Gogh” style. If you have a request like this, inform us in the special instructions. It would also be helpful if you provide us some examples of the style you would like.
-
How will my artwork be packed for shipment?
The paintings will be shipped by rolling them in a protective hard tube. At this stage we do not frame the paintings. Firstly, framing is a very personal choice. Secondly, we want to minimize all possibility of damage.
-
What methods of payment do you accept?
We use Western Union or Wire transfer. Full deposit requested if painting value is less than $2000.
50% as deposit and the rest to be paid when the paintings are ready for delivery, if paintings value is US$2000 or more.
- My question isn't answered on this page, what should I do?
Contact us, and we’ll get back to you within 24 hours.
